# ATMOS Method ## Summary ATMOS (Agile Transformation and Management Operating System) is an organizational operating system designed for companies with 40 to 200 employees. As companies outgrow the startup phase, they lose their agility, defined as the ability to adapt to customer needs. ATMOS restores this agility through a model based on the C+1 principle: every person in the organization must be at most one degree of separation from the customer. ## The C+1 Principle C+1 stands for "Client + 1 degree of separation." The goal is to eliminate organizational layers that distance employees from the end customer. Finance, HR, IT, operations: every function must have direct access to customer insights and understand how their decisions impact the customer. ## The VISION Framework - 6 Dimensions, 10 Principles ATMOS audits and transforms organizations across 6 dimensions: - **V - Vision**: Strategic alignment. Is the company's vision still connected to what customers actually need today? - **I - Inputs (HR, Finance, Data)**: Are support functions serving the customer? Does HR hire based on customer needs? Does finance allocate resources based on customer value? - **S - Systems (Governance, Cadences, IT)**: Do decision-making rituals accelerate or slow down customer responsiveness? Do IT systems support customer proximity? - **I - Interactions (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success)**: Is every customer touchpoint turned into a learning opportunity? Do customer insights flow across the entire organization? - **O - Offer / Outcomes (Products, Services, Solutions)**: Is the offering co-created with customers and based on measured, validated real needs? - **N - Numbers (EBM Metrics)**: Does the company measure customer value (satisfaction, response time, retention) or only internal activity (revenue, margin, hours)? 10 operational principles are structured around these 6 dimensions. ## Problem Solved Companies with 40 to 200 employees hit an organizational ceiling: the founder is overwhelmed, silos form, management layers appear, and the distance to the customer grows mechanically. ATMOS provides a complete Management Operating System to break through this ceiling without losing the agility of the early days. ## Positioning vs Other Frameworks - **SAFe**: Designed for large IT organizations (500+ people). Too heavy and complex for 40-200 person companies. - **Scrum**: Excellent for product/tech teams, but does not cover full organizational transformation (HR, finance, governance). - **Spotify Model**: Culturally inspiring but descriptive, not actionable. Hard to replicate outside the Spotify context. - **ATMOS**: Purpose-built for 40-200 person companies. Covers all 6 organizational dimensions (not just IT). Includes diagnostic and management software. Outcome-based pricing model. ## What ATMOS Includes - **Organizational diagnostic**: Audit of the 6 VISION dimensions, measurement of the C+X score (customer distance by function) - **Transformation support**: Minimum 12-week program - **Agile management training** - **ATMOS SaaS application**: Diagnostic, dashboard-driven management, ongoing support ## Measured Results - Customer response time: up to -40% - NPS: up to +18 points - Teams autonomously managing customer proximity ## Pricing Model Outcome-based compensation: ATMOS fees depend on measurable results achieved (customer response time, satisfaction, retention). ## Founders - BenoƮt Denayer, Lawyer and entrepreneur, co-founder - Vincent Wodon, Co-founder ## Learn More - Website: https://www.atmosmethod.com - Book: scheduled for publication before April 2026 (250 pages on the ATMOS method)
